"Reflecting on our journey to improve continence care, January 2024 was pivotal. Our program evaluation revealed significant gaps, especially in how we collected and utilized manual voiding diaries to shape our residents' care plans. The pandemic further highlighted our lack of comprehensive understanding of continence and continence products, with staff often assuming all products were the same. We noticed our residents were becoming saturated in their products, leading to discomfort, a loss of dignity, increased workload, and higher environmental demands due to the amount of laundry this caused."
